BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has stated that the party’s Acting Chairman, Tarique Rahman, will become Bangladesh’s prime minister if the party is elected in the upcoming national election.
"Tarique Rahman is our future Prime Minister," he said at the national conference of the Doctors' Association of Bangladesh (DAB) at Willes Little Flower School and College in the city.
BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman was present as the chief guest at the programme.
DAB President Professor Dr. Harun Al Rashid presided over the event, and National University Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Md. Lutfor Rahman conducted it.
Mirza Fakhrul said it is not just about establishing a democratic system or voting rights; all rights, including food and healthcare, must be ensured.
He praised Bangladeshi doctors as among the best in the subcontinent but identified systemic issues as the problem, saying, "The culture of mutual animosity has destroyed us."
