Results of 11, out of 39 centres of the Jagannath University Central Students' Union (JnUCSU) elections have been published. The results show that Chhatra Shibir-backed vice-president (VP) candidate Riazul Islam has received 1,031 votes, while Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) VP candidate AKM Rakib bagged 1,142 votes. So, JCD's Rakib is ahead by 111 votes from Chhatra Shibir's Riazul.
The JnUCSU Election Commission formally announced the results at about 11:30am on Wednesday.
The results received from the Department of Philosophy showed that Shibir-backed VP candidate Riazul Islam got 111 votes, while JCD backed Rakib obtained 175 votes.
Shibir-backed GS candidate Abdul Alim Arif got 135 votes, while JCD-supported Khadizatul Kubra received 80 votes. Shibir-backed AGS candidate Masud Rana got 119 votes while JCD -backed AGS candidate Atiqur Rahman Tanzil bagged 124 votes.
