BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has called upon voters to give him a scope of building the country casting their votes in favour of 'Sheaf of Paddy.'
He made the call while speaking at an electoral meeting at his own constituency (Dhaka-17) at Kemal Ataturk Avenue playground at Banani in the capital on Monday (February 9).
Quoting late BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, Tarique Rahman said she said: "Bangladesh is my first and last address." "Which is our first and last address?" Then the leaders and workers of BNP present at the meeting raised their voices saying "Bangladesh."
Tarique Rahman said BNP is the only political party of the country which has a plan to build the nation. BNP is the only political party which has a programme to reorganise the country. BNP is the only party which has experiences of running the country properly.
"BNP always believes that people are the only source of all political power. BNP had always received people support since its creation. BNP didn't leave people as it had the support of people."
Mentioning that BNP had always been beside people in their happiness and sufferings, Tarique Rahman said whenever people gave opportunities to BNP, the party tried its best to build the nation applying all its strengths.
Tarique Rahman said: "As a candidate of 'Sheaf of Paddy' from Dhaka-17 constituency, I seek your votes and your verdict. Please make 'Sheaf of Paddy' winner across the country sending requests to your friends and relatives. Please make requests to all. I also intend to convey my request to all of them."
The BNP Chairman said, "We all will have to build the country and change the fates of people. We will have to move the country forward. BNP is the only political party which has that plans, programs and experiences. So, you please give BNP an opportunity. BNP will build the country along with you again."
Tarique Rahman also mentioned that the autocrat had fled the country destroying the nation. "We will rebuild the country again with people beside us. Since the country is of us, none will come forward from outside to build our country," he said.
