State Minister for Liberation War Affairs and Dhaka-6 MP Ishraq Hossain has expressed his intention to contest the upcoming Dhaka South City Corporation election.
“I will contest the city election from Dhaka South, Insha’Allah,” he wrote in his verified Facebook page on Monday.
Ishraque was elected MP from Dhaka-6 in the February 12 national election. He was later appointed State Minister for Liberation War Affairs in the new government.
The Election Commission, however, has not yet announced an official schedule for the city corporation polls.
