The second International Business Olympiad Bangladesh 2024 recently organized by Business Genius Bangladesh and sponsored by the University of South Asia (USA) and Bangladesh Debate Warriors (BDW) and Club partner was South Asia Business Club (SABC), was a resounding success. The event held on June 7 from 9 am to 6 pm, was packed with exciting activities and inspirational sessions at the permanent campus of University of South Asia, Aminbazar, Savar.
The opening ceremony was graced by several distinguished guests. Prof. Dr. M. A. Wadud Mondal, Vice Chancellor of the University of South Asia, chaired the ceremony. The Chief Guest was Mohammad Nizam Uddin Jitu, Chairman of the Standing Committee on International Trade Fair and Foreign Delegation, FBCCI, Telelink Group, City Asset Developers Ltd., and Bangladesh Mobile Phone Businessmen Association. International Celebrity Chef Jahida Begum, Manager and Head of Food & Beverage Production at NHTTI, Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, Ministry of Civil Aviation & Tourism, was the Guest of Honor.
Other notable attendees included Professor Irshad Ahmed Shaheen, Dean, School of Arts and Culture, University of South Asia, and Associate Professor M. Abdullah Al Mamun, Chief Adviser of FoHTEM and Business Genius Bangladesh, and Dean, South Asia School of Business, University of South Asia. Shahnaz Islam, Owner of ICAB and President of Nokkhotro Nari Songothon, M A Nahiyan, Head of Sales & Marketing at Central Inn, Al Mamun Rasel, Advocate at the Supreme Court, and Rakin Absar, a famous content creator, were also special guests.
The event featured a variety of engaging activities, including a workshop and career planning seminar, quiz contest, game show, business idea presentation, video resume competition, debate, squid game show, cooking, cultural contest, and sessions like "Meet with Celebrity" and "Coffee with Corporates."
The closing ceremony was equally grand, with Associate Professor M. Abdullah Al Mamun chairing the event. The Chief Guest was Md. Ali Mortuza from Transcom Ltd. Special guests included Mr. Johurul Islam Jewel, Head of HR and Deputy Registrar at the University of South Asia, Zafar Sadiq, President of Prothom Alo Bondhushava NC, M A Nahiyan, Md. Karimul Alam, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Business Administration, Rawkatun Nur, Assistant Professor and Head of Communication at the University of South Asia, and Rumpa Mittro, Lecturer and Co-ordinator of BBA, Department of Business Administration.
The Olympiad provided a unique platform for students and young professionals to showcase their talents, network with industry leaders, and gain valuable insights into the world of business. The event's diverse activities and the presence of prominent figures made it a memorable experience for all participants.
