Actress Sharmin Akhter Nipa (Mahia Mahi), Independent candidate for Rajshahi-1 constituency has been served a show-cause notice by the Election Commission for violating the election code of conducts.
Sessions Judge Md Abu Sayed, also chairman of election investigation committee of the constituency, served the show-cause notice.
According to the notice, Mahi has been asked to give an explanation on December 17.
General Secretary of Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote and Sharmin Akhter Nipa alias Mahiya Mahi will contest in the constituency as an independent candidate.
