Ten more deaths from dengue recorded in 24 hours till Monday morning, raising the fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh to 1,096 this year.
During the period, 2,660 more patients were hospitalised with the viral fever, according to the DGHS.
Of the new patients, 649 were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka and the rest outside the capital--indicating a worsening situation across the country, DGHS said.
"A total of 8,820 dengue patients are undergoing treatment at different hospitals. Of them, 2,756 are in Dhaka while 6,064 are outside of the capital city," it added.
So far, the DGHS has recorded 2,26,224, dengue cases and 2,16,308 recoveries this year, according to DGHS data.
