Director (Legal and Media wing) of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) headquarters Commander Khandaker Al Moin on Monday said that RAB's special force has been kept ready to deal with any kind of situation centering the Durga Puja.

Besides, RAB helicopters have also been kept ready in this regard.

The  RAB media director came up with the remark while replying to reporters' questions after visiting Banani Puja Mandap in the capital.

"We have continued our intelligence activities regularly alongside continuing RAB patrolling," Commander Moin said.

He said that around 4000 RAB members in white clothes and uniform are performing duties in 32, 704 puja Mandaps across the country. Besides, 300 teams of the elite force have also been conducted patrolling  every night so that no vested quarter or malicious circles can thwart this festival. Checkposts have also been set up at various places across the country, he added.

Commander Al Moin also said that a communal force tried to destroy non-communal harmony by creating chaos. But the  law enforcement agencies, including  RAB, were able to foil their plot.  RAB's intelligence surveillance has continued to trace all the miscreants who conspired through vested interests.

About spreading rumours, the  RAB  media director said that those who are trying to spread rumors through social media are being monitored. There is a class of self-interested circles who try to create panic by creating rumors and by spreading these rumors they try to create sabotage and violence.  RAB has been working to identify those who are trying to create rumors through social media, he said.

Commander Moin also said they are reviewing and closely monitoring the situation across the country.

"We are coordinating with the National Puja Celebration Committee. They inform us when what they think is necessary. We are taking action accordingly. Everything is being done to the best of our ability," he added.
