The Election Commission (EC) on Monday ordered the withdrawal of the deputy commissioner of Habiganj Devi Chanda and the officers-in-charge (OCs) of three police stations in other districts.
Separate letters in this regard from the Election Commission have been sent to the Ministry of Public Administration and the Public Security division of the home ministry.
In the letters, instructions have been given to withdraw these officers and to appoint someone suitable there.
In the letter to the Ministry of Public Administration said, the Election Commission has decided to recall the Deputy Commissioner of Habiganj with the aim of conducting the 12th National Assembly elections in a fair and impartial manner. The letter asked to take action to withdraw her and appoint a suitable officer.
In a separate letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the officers-in-charge of Chandpur's Matlab (North) and Madaripur's Dasar police station and Kaliganj police station's Inspector (Investigation) Rajeev Chakraborty have been instructed to withdraw.
