At least four people were killed and over 50 people were burnt as miscreants set on fire Benapole Express train in the city's Gopibagh area around 9:00 pm on Friday.
RAB media wing director Khandaker Al Moin said that RAB-BGB members recovered the bodies of four people from the 'C' compartment of the train with the help of locals.
Fire Service Duty Officer Rakibul Hasan said seven units rushed to the spot after receiving information about the fire and started working to douse the blaze.
He said that the Benapole Express train was coming to Kamalapur railway station from the western region. Before entering the Kamalapur platform, the Benapole Express caught fire in the Gopibag railway line area. However, the origin of the fire is not yet known, he added.
