Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Saturday said the defeated forces are out to halt the election by creating chaos, so all anti-fascist forces must remain united to resist their evil efforts.
"If all the forces of the uprising cannot hold a fair election together, this great opportunity of us will be lost," he said at a meeting with top leaders of different political parties at the State Guest House Jamuna here.
The Chief Adviser said the defeated forces are creating various kinds of chaos whenever they get the opportunity to do so.
By doing this, they are seriously disrupting the country's usual progress, he added.
"Whenever we are moving forward with preparations for the elections, various conspiracies are coming to us.
"But the reality is that no plot can hinder the democratic progress. Because the unity of all democratic forces on the issue of fascism is clear," Prof Yunus said.
He sought cooperation of all political parties to organise fair elections.
The political leaders, who were present at the meeting, assured the Chief Adviser of providing all-out cooperation to this end.
