Four Bangladeshis - Khorshed Alam Bhuiyan, Adira Ifrin, Rafsan Ahmed Sinan, Md Waliullah - have made the country proud by winning first place in the World Handwriting Competition.
Khorshed Alam Bhuiyan, former Deputy Controller of Examinations at Dhaka University and president of the Handwriting Association of Bangladesh, won first place in the ‘Artistic Category’ (Over 65 age group). Waliullah from Rangpur secured first place in the ‘Old Category’ (20-64 age group). Adira Ifrin and Rafsan Ahmed Sinan, both from Rangpur, earned first places in two separate categories under ‘Kids’ (Under 7 age group).
In addition, Sudipta Roy from Rangpur won second place in the ‘Manuscript Category’ (13-19 age group).
World Handwriting Development Organization General Secretary Ziaur Rahman confirmed this information to the Khaborer Kagoj on Monday (October 20). He said the results of this competition were announced on October 17.
The annual competition is conducted by a New York-based organisation, Handwriting for Humanity, and the winners get a certificate and recognition. The contest was held in five categories, where millions of participants joined from across the world.
