A fire that broke out at a three-storey residential building in Old Dhaka’s Chawkbazar area on Monday afternoon has been brought under control.
The blaze started on the top floor of the building around 4:40 pm, said Anwarul Islam, warehouse inspector of the Fire Service and Civil Defence.
Upon receiving the information, four firefighting units rushed to the spot and began working to bring the flames under control, he said.
Later, three more teams joined the operation and brought the blaze under control at 6 pm, he added.
No casualties have been reported so far, and the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
