Nine more children died with measles and measles-like symptoms in the last 24 hours till Tuesday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the new deaths, three were confirmed as measles-related, while the remaining six were classified as suspected.
During the same period, 163 confirmed measles cases and 1,276 suspected cases were reported nationwide.
According to the DGHS data, since 15 March, a total of 34,662 suspected measles cases have been identified nationwide. Of them a total of 4,856 measles cases were confirmed through laboratory testing.
DGHS data show that between 15 March and 28 April, a total of 23,348 suspected patients have been hospitalised so far. Of them, 19,991 have been recovered and released.
The DGHS said the total number of confirmed measles deaths between March 15 and April 28 stood at 47. In addition, 226 children have died with symptoms consistent with measles.
