A court in Dhaka on Monday (May 18) ordered to confiscate the income tax return file of Arifa Jesmine, wife of former state minister for ICT Junayed Ahmed Palak.
Dhaka Metropolitan's senior special judge Md Sabbir Foyez passed the order responding to an appeal of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
Bench assistant of the court concerned Md Riaz Hossain said it.
Investigation officer of the case and ACC's assistant director Minhaz Bin Islam said they appealed to the court seeking order to confiscate Arifa Jesmine's income tax return.
It was stated in the prayer that it was imperative to confiscate the details of recorded documents or information from 2008-2009 to 2024-2025 taxation years for the sake of fair investigation into the case.
On December 12, 2024, the ACC filed a case against Palak and his wife Jesmine for accumulating illegal wealth worth Tk 19 crore.
