A delegation led by AB Party General Secretary Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad met with Canadian High Commissioner to Bangladesh HE Ajit Singh on Thursday.
During the meeting, they discussed the progress regarding the July charter, elections, and public enthusiasm for a democratic transition, according to a press release.
Asaduzzaman Fuad reiterated the AB Party's position to uphold the democratic process at any cost and also mentioned how the July uprising took place due to the absence of democracy and justice.
Ajit Singh expressed hope for a free, fair and internationally acceptable election, where the people of Bangladesh will celebrate their democratic rights.
The AB Party also hopes that under Ajit Singh's leadership, there will be better trade relations and student exchanges between the two countries.
The Canadian team also included political counselor Marcus Davies, Second Secretary of Political Affairs Philippe Bernier Arcand, and Political and Economic Advisor Nisar Ahmed.
The AB Party delegation included Barrister Nasreen Sultana Mily, head of International Affairs, and Barrister Mohammed Sayed Baki, assistant joint secretary of International.
