Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has unveiled a commemorative postage stamp marking the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The stamp was released Thursday morning at the Prime Minister’s Office in the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat, Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon said.
The commemorative stamp carries a face value of Tk 10. A souvenir sheet with an envelope priced at Tk 50 and a data card valued at Tk 5 were also issued. A special seal was used during the ceremony.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by Post, Telecommunications and IT Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam, Secretary Bilkis Jahan Rimi, and Additional Director General of the Department of Posts and Telecommunications SM Harunur Rashid.
The FIFA World Cup opens tonight at midnight with inaugural events in the three host countries — the United States, Mexico and Canada. Separate opening ceremonies will be held in Mexico City, Toronto and Los Angeles.
