The daily Khaborer Kagoj and Insaf Barakah Kidney and General Hospital have signed a Memorandum of Understanding regarding healthcare.
According to the agreement, the journalists, officials, and employees of the daily Khaborer Kagoj and their family members will receive 'discounts' on various healthcare services at this hospital.
The agreement was officially signed on Tuesday (November 25) afternoon at the meeting room of the daily Khaborer Kagoj head office at Bangla Motor in the capital.
The agreement was signed by editor and publisher Mostofa Kamal, managing editor Khaled Faruqui, and deputy editor Dr. Muhammad Emdad Hasnain on behalf of the Khaborer Kagoj, and Additional Managing Director Md Altaf Hossain, Assistant General Manager Md Hafizur Rahman, and Assistant Manager (Marketing and Media) Hossain Mohammad Dulal on behalf of Insaf Barakah Kidney and General Hospital.
At the event, editor of the Khaborer Kagoj, Mostofa Kamal, said that while journalists and media workers constantly keep an eye on others, their own physical well-being and safety are often not given importance.
He said, while journalists suddenly fall ill, there is confusion about where or to which hospital they will be taken quickly, and how they will be ensured proper treatment.
Referring to 'Khaborer Kagoj' as a family, he said that this agreement has been signed with Insaf Barakah Hospital to ensure the good health of all members of the organization.
"If the Hospital authorities maintain service, compassion, and responsibility towards journalists and general patients, the institution will make much more progress in the medical sector," he added.
At the agreement signing ceremony, managing editor of the Khaborer Kagoj, Khaled Faruqui, said, "We welcome such initiatives. Others like Insaf Barakah Kidney and General Hospital should also come forward like this." He urged all journalists of the Khaborer Kagoj to take care of their own health.
At the event, Insaf Barakah Kidney and General Hospital Director Nazrul Islam Shawon urged journalists to get a body checkup at least once every six months.
Copy editor of the Khaborer Kagoj, Masuduzzaman, city editor Abdullah Al Mamun, head of human resources and administration, Mintu Bhushan Roy, head of brand and events, Atia Sultana, and others were present at the event.
