Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain today said the BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, who is currently staying in London, has not yet applied for a travel pass to return to the country.
Speaking to reporters at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday, Touhid said that if Tarique Rahman requests the pass, it will be issued without delay. "However, as far as I know, he has not yet requested it,” he added.
In response to a question about whether Tarique Rahman has a passport or any specific information about his arrival, the Foreign Affairs Advisor said that he does not have any specific information at the moment.
Regarding the medical treatment of BNP Chairperson and former prime minister Khaleda Zia, he said the government will take the necessary steps to send her abroad for treatment if her family or party formally decides on the matter.
