Former footballer of Bangladesh National Football Team Kaisar Hamid's daughter popular content creator and actor Kaarina Kaisar was laid to eternal rest on Monday morning.
She was buried at her maternal grandfather's house at village Abdullahpur in Bhaberchar union under Gazaria upazila in Munshiganj district at about 8:00am on Monday (May 18).
Kaarina was the grand-daughter of late Dr Abul Khair Bacchu and Dr Zohra Khanam Parul.
Earlier, her body was taken to Gazaria by an ambulance from Dhaka at about 7:00am. A pall of gloom descended on the entire area after her body reached there.
Family sources said Kaarina's body was brought at Gazaria after completion of all formalities in Dhaka and paying tributes by people from all strata of the society at the Central Shaheed Minar on Sunday night. Local people took part in the final janaza at Gazaria.
However, according to the family decision, the janaza and burial process were carried out maintaining complete privacy. None was allowed to enter there with mobile phone or camera. Even, the mass media people were requested to stay away from the place of burial.
Following the burial, Kaarina Kaisar's younger brother Saadat Hamid said three janazas were held in Dhaka where mass media workers were allowed to enter. However, no media were allowed to enter during the burial as per the family's wishes. "We have come at our village home mainly to stay away from publicity and excessive presence of people. Hope that you understand our mental condition well."
He also said: "Both my mother and apu liked this house, particularly, its lawn. Because of it, she has been buried there. We have a plan to build a mosque there so that devotees can make prayers and offer munajat for our sister."
Kaarina Kaisar died from liver-related complications while underwent treatment in Chennai of India. She was flown there for advanced medical treatment.
According to family sources, Kaarina initially developed a fever before doctors detected an infection. Complications caused by Hepatitis A and E later led to liver failure.
As her condition worsened, she was admitted to the intensive care unit and later placed on life support.
Widely known as a content creator, Kaarina had recently been active in acting and scriptwriting. Her lively social media presence and relatable content earned her popularity among young audiences, while she gradually established herself in OTT platforms and television dramas.
Her notable works include Internship and 36-24-36.
