BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir's wife Rahat Ara Begum and elder daughter Dr. Mirza Shamaruh met him at Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj on Sunday afternoon.
BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed the matter to the media on Monday.
According to family sources, Mirza Fakhrul is in good health and remains updated with the news of the country through newspapers.
Dr. Mirza Shamaruh came to Dhaka from Australia on December 8 to see his father.
Dr. Shamaruh is a medical scientist. Since 2006, she has been living in Canberra, the capital of Australia.
