Today is the fifth death anniversary of rock legend Ayub Bacchu. On this day in 2018, He died of cardiac failure at his residence only at the age of 56.

To observe the day, several of Ayub Bachchu Fan Club is hosting a special ‘Dowa Mahfil’ at the Chaitanya Goli in Chattogram’s Station Road area. Ayub Bachchu and LRB fan clubs are set to organise special prayer sessions and discussions across the country.

Born on August 16, 1962, AB started his music career in his birthplace Chattogram with then popular band Feelings in 1978. Later in 1980, he joined the band Souls, one of the pioneers in the band movement of Bangladesh.

The music legend formed his band, LRB, in his hometown, Chattogram in 1991. He started his music career in 1977, with the band ‘Feelings.’ where he played as the lead guitarist alongside his most popular contemporary rockstar James, another rock legend of the country, for the next two years.

He had recorded 28 albums, including 16 solo albums. He also composed 500 songs including famous numbers like ‘Cholo Bodle Jai’, ‘Rupali Guitar’, ‘Hashte Dekho, Gaite Dekho’, ‘Ekhon Anek Raat’, ‘Ghum Bhanga Shahare’, ‘Darojar Opashe’, ‘Madhabi’, ‘Hawker’, ‘Meye’, ‘Tara Bhora Rate’, ‘Saare Tin Hath Mati’ and many more, and lent his voice to playbacks for films.
