India pacer Mohammed Shami received a marriage proposal from actress-turned-politician Payal Ghosh.
Mohammed Shami has taken 16 wickets from just four games, including two five-wicket hauls at the ICC World Cup 2023. He has been named the Player of the Match twice for his exceptional bowling. He also had the best bowling figure when he took five wickets for 18 runs in five overs against Sri Lanka at Wankhede Stadium.
While fans are in awe of his charisma on the field, Payal Ghosh has gone to the extent of proposing marriage. Impressed with his bowling, actress-turned-politician Payal Ghosh has expressed her desire to marry the pace bowler.
Payal took to X, previously known as Twitter and wrote that she is ready to be his second wife but she wants him to improve his English. “Shami Tum apna English sudharlo, I’m ready to marry you,” she posted.
The post has gone viral. Shami is yet to react to the wedding proposal.
Payal Ghosh came into limelight when she openly accused director Anurag Kashyap. She had revealed that Anurag Kashyap had sexually assaulted her. She had reached the court regarding this matter. This matter had become very serious and Anurag Kashyap had to come forward and give clarification on this matter. Not only this, after Payal raised this issue, many other actresses also raised their voice against Anurag. Jumping into politics in 2020, she got the post of female vice president in Ramdas Athavale's republican party of India.
On the other hand, Mohammed Shami was married to Hasin Jahan, but ended up separating. They have a child.
