Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, currently enjoying the success of his latest film, Animal, has found himself in hot water. A complaint has been lodged against the actor for hurting the religious sentiments.
According to PTI, a complaint was filed by Sanjay Tiwari at Ghatkopar police station through his lawyers Ashish Rai and Pankaj Mishra at the Ghatkopar Police Station in Mumbai against Ranbir Kapoor and his family members for allegedly hurting religious sentiments over a viral video showing them celebrating Christmas.
The viral video shows liquor being poured over a cake and then the actor sets it on fire saying, 'Jai Mata Di'. The rest of the family members also chanted the same after Ranbir Kapoor.
Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt finally revealed their daughter Raha's face at this year's legendary Kapoor Christmas lunch, which was hosted by Kunal Kapoor. Later on, several Kapoor family members posted fam-jam images on social media, which quickly went viral.
Sanjay Tiwari said that Ranbir Kapoor can be seen in the video putting liquor on a cake and setting it on fire while saying 'Jai Mata Di'. The accusation said that Ranbir and his relatives knowingly consumed alcoholic beverages while celebrating a holiday of a different faith and shouted "Jai Mata Di". This violates Hindu tradition, which calls for the worship of the fire deity before invoking other deities.
