As a goodwill gesture, the Government of Bangladesh has sent mangoes as a gift to the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari, and the Chief Minister of Tripura, Dr. Manik Saha. A total of 1,100 kg of mangoes have been sent to these two Chief Ministers.
These mangoes, sent through the Benapole and Akhaura land ports, have been handed over to the representatives of the Bangladesh Mission in India.
The mangoes, belonging to Amrapali and Haribhanga variesties, were sent to West Bengal's Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, and Tripura's Chief Minister, Dr. Manik Saha as goodwill gifts. The mangoes were handed over to the representatives of the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata through the Benapole border in Jashore and to the representatives of the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala through the Akhaura land port in Brahmanbaria on Tuesday (June 30) afternoon.
A total of 1,100 kg of mangoes have been sent to the two states. A total of 500 kg of mangoes in 100 cartons, i.e. 5 kg in each carton, were sent to the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata, and 600 kg of mangoes in 120 cartons -- 5kg in each carton-- were sent to the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala through the Akhaura land port in Brahmanbaria.
A specific allocation of 100 kg of mangoes were sent to West Bengal's Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, and 100 kg of mangoes were sent to Tripura Agartala Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha. Remaining 900 kgs of mangoes will be distributed as goodwill gifts to other dignitaries and high-ranking government officials in both states.
