As the axis of monsoon troughs runs through Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) in a forecast today (Sunday) said one of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay, and monsoon is active over Bangladesh.
Releasing an outlook for the next 5 (five) days, the BMD said that:
Light to moderately heavy rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with heavy to very heavy rainfalls at places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions today (Sunday).
On Monday, light to moderately heavy rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna and Sylhet divisions and at a many places over Barisal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy rainfalls at places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna and Sylhet divisions.
On Tuesday, light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions and at a few places over Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy rainfalls at places over Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions.
On Wednesday, light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions and at a few places over Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy rainfalls at places over Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions.
On Thursday, light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barisal and Chattogram divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy rainfalls at places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions.
