Continuous heavy rainfall triggered widespread waterlogging across Dhaka on Sunday, disrupting daily life and causing severe hardship for residents.
Rain started pouring down shortly after midnight and continued until Sunday afternoon.

Due to the downpour, roads in many areas, including Malibagh, Mouchak, Moghbazar, Green Road, Karwan Bazar, Panthapath, Jigatala, Dhanmondi, West Tejturi Bazar, West Shewrapara, Mirpur-10, Kazipara, Paltan and Madhubagh, went underwater.
In many areas, vehicles were seen moving slowly while pedestrians were wading through waterlogged roads.
According to the BMD, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions during the next 24 hours commencing at this noon under the influence of active monsoon.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it said.
